One of two individuals charged with the first-degree murder of 61-year-old Mark Douglas Jonson in North Battleford made a brief appearance Wednesday in provincial court.

David Keller, who appeared before Judge Kim Young in North Battleford via closed-circuit TV, is remanded to Sept. 5 at 11 a.m., again by closed-circuit TV.

In the meantime a bail verification report has been re-ordered. A report was not ready for Wednesday’s court date, due to the lockdown taking place at the correctional centre in Saskatoon. A no-contact order was also renewed.

The other co-accused, Nicolas Buck, is scheduled to make his next appearance in North Battleford provincial court Thursday by closed-circuit TV. Both Buck and Keller were arrested in July in the case.
