The Saskatoon Police Service, along with the Saskatoon Fire Dept. are working to determine what caused the explosion at a home in the 2200 Block of Clarence Ave.

The Canadian Press reported Saturday that city police said two patrol officers saw a house on fire early that morning. As the officers approached, they say there was an explosion which then sparked fires at two adjacent properties.

Firefighters reported finding a house leveled and large debris, vehicles and a detached garage all on fire when they arrived on the scene. Local residents were evacuated until the fires were brought under control.
