NB helping in Dillon break and enter investigation

Forensic investigators from North Battleford are assisting the investigation in Dillon of a break and enter and assault in that northern community. The incident happened in the early hours of Sunday. RCMP say they were called in at 3 a.m.

Forensic investigators from North Battleford are assisting the investigation in Dillon of a break and enter and assault in that northern community.

The incident happened in the early hours of Sunday. RCMP say they were called in at 3 a.m. after receiving a call from a 72-year-old female victim who resides in Dillon,

Police say the witness described the suspect as an aboriginal male with short hair and stocky build.

Before she was interviewed by RCMP, the victim was transported to Ile-a-La-Crosse for medical treatment. Her injuries were not considered life threatening.

The police investigation is being led by the Dillon detachment, but there has been assistance from North Battleford with forensic investigators being called in. An RCMP police dog also attended the scene.

Assistance is also coming from the Prince Albert general investigation section as well as from other Northern Saskatchewan detachments. Dillon is located 70 kilometres west of Buffalo Narrows.
