North Battleford Fire Department responded to the North Saskatchewan River 1:15 p.m. Thursday to rescue an individual who appeared to have jumped into the river and was spotted by three canoers.
The three people canoeing in the river pulled the individual on to the shore and called 911.
The NBFD had to launch the rescue boat to retrieve the individual approximately one quarter mile downstream from the boat launch. Eight members of the NBFD were involvd in the swift water rescue.
The individual was brought back to the boat launch and released to EMS and RCMP.
