NBFES act quickly

Shortly before 2 p.m. Monday, North Battleford Fire and Emergency Services responded to a house call at 1332 96th street in North Battleford.

Shortly before 2 p.m. Monday, North Battleford Fire and Emergency Services responded to a house call at 1332 96th street in North Battleford.

After a cigarette was accidentally dropped inside a concrete step and the wooden steps inside of the cavity began to smoke the fire department was called to the house.

NBFES were on scene within minutes and controlled the smoldering fire. No other damages were reported on the residence except for the stairs connected to the house.

NBFES along with the RCMP and WPD ambulance were on the scene for 25 minutes.
