The Battlefords will be a major focus of provincial New Democrat leadership candidates this week.
The NDP will be hosting its latest all-candidates leadership forum at the Western Development Museum in North Battleford Thursday starting at 7 p.m.
It is expected all four leadership hopefuls will be in attendance: Cam Broten, Ryan Meili, Erin Weir and Trent Wotherspoon. The event is open to the public.
The leadership forum is one of several that the NDP have held across the province since November.
While several more all-candidates forums are also scheduled, the Battlefords event is the last one before the Jan. 25 cut-off date for new members to join the NDP, as well as for old members to renew their memberships.
NDP members will be able to cast votes directly across the province in the leadership contest, with votes cast by mail, online, over the phone, or in person. Members will be able to vote in advance as well. Counting of the votes for the next leader is to take place March 9 at the party's convention in Saskatoon.
