HUMBOLDT — New activities are planned for this year's Summer Sizzler, while an old staple of the fair will be missed for another year.

The City of Humboldt, which is organizing the June 15 to 18 fair, said the new activities include Motocross Stunt Performers, bouncy castles and inflatables, paddle boats, water walking balls, mechanical bull riding, and a duelling pianos show.

"One notable change is that unfortunately, the company who typically provides the midway, and who was booked for 2022, cancelled on short notice due to lack of employees," the city said in a media release. "According to the company owners, they were shut down for the past two years due to provincial restrictions and they have been unsuccessful in refilling positions vacated during the pandemic."

Traditional activities that will return include the parade, barbeques, a pancake breakfast, Comic Con, and the Strong Person Competition.
