Several new faces join the ranks this week as directors with the Battlefords Chamber of Commerce.
Elections were concluded in December with 11 candidates vying for nine positions on the board. Results were released Jan. 7.
Winners are, in alphabetical order: Malcolm Anderson (Gold Eagle Lodge), Kelly Atcheynum (Gold Eagle Casino), Trent Gatzke (Scott Campbell Dodge Ltd.), Dr. Melissa Gieni (SPESMED), Norman Hochbaum (BMO Bank of Montreal), Meghan Kennedy (TD Canada Trust), Terry Korpach (Anderson Pump House Ltd.), Moe McGuinty (Dekker Centre for the Performing Arts) and Bill Volk (individual member).
Anderson, Atcheynum and Volk are all returning incumbents; the other six are all newly-elected directors. Their term is for two years.
About half of the seats on the board were up for election; 10 ten seats come up for election again this coming December. There are also positions for city and town representatives who are appointed to the Chamber board.
In total, ballots were mailed to 360 member businesses and the closing date for ballots was Dec. 31.
Chamber of Commerce representatives met the first week of January to count the ballots. Ballot results indicated one spoiled ballot with 27 pe rcent of the membership returning completed ballots.
As is customary, vote counts were not made public.
The new and returning directors officially joined the Chamber board of directors at their annual general meeting Tuesday night.
