A new playground structure is coming to Senator Herb Sparrow Park in the fall.
The new structure will be put in place by the end of September and will replace the existing structure at the park. The location is on the corner of 13th Avenue and 104th Street outside the Boys and Girls Club building.
At a virtual meeting of council members Monday, councillors got a report from Director of Leisure Services Cheryl DeNeire with details on the recent Request for Proposals that had gone out for the new playground project.
The winning design came from Canadian Recreation Solutions of Sherwood Park, Alta., which was one of six bidders.
According to DeNeire’s report, the “design chosen is not like others in the city and is age appropriate considering its proximity to the North Battleford Boys and Girls Club. They have been shown the design and we will be working with them to ensure that the timing of the installation also fits with their plans.”
DeNeire indicated in her report that the Parks Department will assist with the installation and perform the safety inspection.
