NIPAWIN — The Town of Nipawin announced that they would be rescinding the open burning restriction following favourable changes in the Fire Weather Index and recent moisture.

The restriction was issued on May 19.

According to the Town of Nipawin Fire Bylaw, fuel for open air fires must be charcoal or cut, seasoned wood.

Nipawin residents are not allowed to burn rubbish, garden refuse, manure, livestock carcasses, and any material which when burned generates black smoke or an offensive odour; and if the smoke causes an unreasonable interference with the enjoyment of another person’s property it must be extinguished.
