Don't be sucked in by a sad story and promises of great riches.
That bit of sage advice is being offered up by Battlefords RCMP this week in the wake of several reports of a fraud scheme making its rounds in the community.
In the form of a letter purported to be regarding a large inheritance from Ghana, the fraudsters are attempting to lure victims into replying with their name, address, contact information and other personal information.
The RCMP is reminding people to ignore the message and not to provide personal information of any kind.
These letters can be reported to 1-888-495-8501.
