A Humboldt man charged with the attempted murder of his wife has yet to enter a plea.
Brandon Carelse, 34, of Humboldt has appeared a number of times in Saskatoon Provincial Court, and he also appeared in Humboldt Provincial Court on May 16.
However, he has not entered a plea to the charges of attempted murder and breach of probation that he is facing after police were called to a domestic dispute in Humboldt on April 7.
Carelse has not yet had a bail hearing, either, and has remained in police custody, with his consent.
During his brief appearance in Humboldt Provincial Court, very little occurred. He was brought before the judge, then remanded with consent into police custody once again. He is set to appear in Humboldt Provincial Court on June 6.
On April 7, at approximately 5:30 p.m., RCMP in Humboldt received a 9-1-1 call from a child, who reported that a domestic dispute was occurring at a residence on the 1000 block of 7th St. in Humboldt.
Members from the Humboldt detachment quickly arrived at the home and entered the residence.
A 27-year-old female, whom police confirmed was Carelse's wife, was found suffering from stab wounds. Emergency medical services began treatment for her injuries and transported her to a Saskatoon hospital.
Carelse was arrested at the scene and taken into custody. He was also taken to hospital for treatment of his injuries, then released back into police custody.
He was convicted of a common assault on his wife in December.
