The snail's pace of renovations at the infamous 11th Avenue-102nd Street properties in North Battleford is starting to be a concern at City Hall.
The properties, dubbed the "Pigeon Hotel" because of its pigeon infestation problems over the last several years, had been sold earlier this year to developer Ryan Shepherd.
Shepherd pledged to continue efforts started by the previous owners to renovate the property, with intentions to make the heritage property habitable again as office space.
But the two adjoining buildings continue to stand empty, with little progress evident.
Councillor Ryan Bater asked for an update Monday at council about the state of renovations.
City Director of Planning and Development Tim LaFreniere said their Economic Development Director Jennifer Niesink had been in touch with Shepherd on that, but had not yet known what the results are, he said.
LaFreniere acknowledges there had been "early efforts" made this summer to engage a couple of local services, but "they were unsuccessful in that."
He added they are "still attempting to engage labour to assist them." LaFreniere pledged a further written report will be provided to council for their information.
