Nominations have closed for even-year elections in Saskatchewan's rural municipalities, and already a few of those municipalities have announced results.

The deadline to file was Sept. 17 for RM elections, which are scheduled for Oct. 22 in the even-numbered divisions 2, 4 and 6. But several of those divisions will not be having a vote due to candidates winning by acclamation.

Councillors have been acclaimed in the following RMs:

In the RM of North Battleford, Todd Illingworth and Curtis Rousseau have been re-elected in Div. 2 and 4 while Gilles Fransoo is newly elected in Div. 6.

In the RM of Eldon, incumbents Greg Donald (Div. 2), Karla Stoughton (Div. 4) and David Lundquist (Div. 6) have all been returned.

In the RM of Glenside, former Reeve Kim Custer is acclaimed in Div. 2 while Andrea Owen is acclaimed in Div. 4.

In the RM of Parkdale, Rodney Sandwick is re-elected in Div.2 while Leslie Clark is the winner in Div. 6.

In the RM of Paynton, Lloyd Holmes is re-elected in Div. 2, George Dutton is re-elected in Div. 4 and Michael Hult has been re-elected in Div. 6.

Results are in for the RM of Douglas where councillors Randy Bohun (Div. 2), Howard Linnell (Div. 4) and Wayne Rafuse (Div. 6) are all reelected.

The RM of Turtle River has returned incumbents Henry Head, Delbert Elliott and James Laschell in divisions 2, 4 and 6.

In the RM of Meeting Lake, Curtis Babiy is elected in Div. 1 while Earl Holmes is re-elected in Div.2, Robert Allchurch is re-elected in Div. 4 and Marc Brochu is re-elected in Div.6. This particular RM will be holding an election for Reeve with the candidates on the ballot being Randy Aumack and Dave Rogers.

It is expected more acclamations, as well as news of which divisions will see a contested election in October, will be posted in the coming days.
