North West Regional College announces the appointment of three new members to its Board of Governors.
"The staff and current board of North West Regional College are pleased to welcome new board members from Meadow Lake, Unity and Victoire," said Wally Lorenz, Acting Chairperson of North West Regional College. "By engaging new leaders, we can create and promote learning that supports the growth of our entire region,"
New board members include:
Wayne Pike of Meadow Lake who is an administrator for Touchdown Land Consultants. Pike has diverse experience in human resource management, finance and information technology while working in the private sector industries, government and the public school system;
Gaetan Couture of Victoire who is a steam engineer for ERCO World Wide Inc. Couture brings to the board his expertise and many years of experience in occupational health and safety; and
Carey Baker of Unity who is currently Director of Economic Development for the Town of Unity. Baker has extensive experience in the oil and energy servicing industry as well as road maintenance and construction. He will complement the board with his many years of service on various boards.
The three new members complete a seven-member board that oversees the governance of North West Regional College. The board of governors is responsible for providing the overall direction of the college by establishing mission and vision statements, strategic priorities, bylaws, and policies.
North West Regional College has offered its sincere appreciation to Colin Hughes, Les Hurburt and Harry Kostuik for their leadership, dedication and contribution as they recently retired from the Board upon the expiration of their terms of office.
