Not much snow means fewer Snow Angels

As North Battleford residents surely noticed, there was not a lot of snow to shovel in January. In fact, because of the unseasonably warm temperatures, it seemed as if spring had come early.

As North Battleford residents surely noticed, there was not a lot of snow to shovel in January.

In fact, because of the unseasonably warm temperatures, it seemed as if spring had come early. Snow was melting all over the Battlefords and region turning snow banks into puddles.

As a result there wasn’t a big need for Snow Angels during January to clear neighbours’ sidewalks.

The number of nominees for the month reflected it. There were a grand total of five Snow Angel nominees in January — Rob and Corrine Bauer, Lyle Ste. Marie, Jason Lowen and Ross Rankel of Cochin.

Lowen’s name was drawn as the winner of the monthly $50 Visa gift card prize.

All nominees will receive a Snow Angel certificate of appreciation from Mayor Ian Hamilton and have their names appear on the city’s Facebook page and website.
