Nuisance 911 calls, drunken assaults on weekend

North Battleford RCMP report over 60 occurrences/calls for service, five alarms responded and eight false or nuisance 911 calls over the weekend, from 6 a.m. Friday, Jan. 17 to 6 a.m. Monday, Jan. 20.

Friday

1:53 p.m. - Erratic/dangerous driving complaint on Cousins Drive. Suspect driver located and warned.

1:57 p.m. - Sexual assault complaint reported. Investigation ongoing.

2:19 p.m. - Noise complaint/person arguing or fighting on 109th Street. Subjects warned.

4:29 p.m. - 911 call, requesting assistance from police because caller was getting evicted for repeated late rent payments. Again, this is not what 911 is for.

5:01 p.m. - 14-year old-youth reported missing from group home, last seen at about 3:30 p.m. Subject contacted police a short time later and was provided a ride to residence by police.

6:24 p.m. - Assault reported at residence on 101st Street. Victim alleged to have been assaulted at residence by a person known to her. No significant injuries reported. Investigation ongoing.

10:36 p.m. - 18-year-old male arrested for outstanding warrants and found in violation of conditions of undertaking. Held in custody for court on Jan.18.

11:36 p.m. - Loud party complaint on 107th Street which turned out to be a really loud TV. TV turned down and all was good.

Saturday

12:49 a.m. - Report of numerous suspicious persons yelling and possibly getting ready to fight on 104th Street. Patrols negative.

2:11 a.m. - 48-year-old male arrested and now facing charges of impaired driving, refusing to provide a breath sample and driving while Disqualified after a vehicle stop on the east side of the city.

3:22 a.m. - Report of an intoxicated male causing a disturbance at a hotel. Two males, ages 48 and 39, located, heavily intoxicated and arrested for mischief. Held in custody until sober.

4:18 a.m. - Members called to assist with eviction of a few people from a hotel room causing a disturbance and not listening to staff. Subjects removed without incident.

4:25 a.m. - 27-year-old woman arrested and now facing charges of impaired driving and driving while over .08 after vehicle stop on 15th Avenue.

5:17 a.m. - Gas theft reported from business on 100th Street. Suspect vehicle described as older Chevrolet Impala, darker in colour.

10:34 a.m. - Vehicle parked on 1400 block of 103rd egged some time during previous evening. Investigation ongoing.

11:45 a.m. - Report of an attempted theft of a vehicle parked on Henderson Drive. Steering column damage noted. Offence occurred some time during previous two weeks.

12:25 p.m. - Theft of cash reported from a residence on 97th Street. Investigation ongoing.

4:28 p.m. - 32-year-old man arrested and facing charges of impaired driving and driving over .08 after vehicle stop on east side of city, 33- and 32-year-old passengers in vehicle also very intoxicated and arrested for public intoxication.

8:53 p.m. - 911 call reporting a missing person. Caller very upset, cryingand reporting her daughter missing. She could not initially remember her daughter's name, and gave police three different names before settling on one, then could not provide an age or date of birth for her missing daughter. Then confirmed her daughter was an adult and may just be out somewhere. While on the phone with police she turned around and found her daughter in the same room from where she was calling. The daughter may have been the one who should have been crying since her own mother didn't known hername, her birthday or even recognize herwhen she was the only other person in the room.

10:46 p.m. - 911 call of unwanted, intoxicated male refusing to leave a residence on 105th Street. 43-year-old male arrested for mischief and held until sober.

11:07 p.m. - 36-year-old male arrested for public intoxication found heavily intoxicated by patrolling members on 15th Avenue.

11:07 p.m. - 69-year-old woman arrested and facing charges of impaired driving and refusing to provide a breath sample after a vehicle check on Railway Avenue East.

Sunday

1:17 a.m. - 911 call of a disturbance at a residence on 101st Street, first reporting that a woman was throwing knives, then phoned 911 again to report it was just an argument, thenasked the 911 operator why they were on the phone. A 27-year-old woman and a 31-year-old man located near residence, heavily intoxicated, were arrested. Both held in custody until sober.

1:22 a.m. - 58-year-old male arrested for mischief after report of intoxicated male causing problems on 101st Street.

2:42 a.m. - Caller called 911 to report themselves for being intoxicated and located walking in area of 96th Street and Railway avenue. Arrested and held in custody until sober.

2:47 a.m. - Caller got into argument with sister so called 911. No violence or threats. Warned about misuse of 911 system.

4:20 a.m. - Report of intoxicated male ringing doorbells on Deans Crescent. Patrols negative.

4:34 a.m. - Report of a theft of wallet on 100th street.

4:54 a.m. - Members called to same residence on 101st Street as the 1:17 a.m. dispatch, again through 911, about people arguing and knives being used or threatened to be used. 23-year-old male was arrested for mischief and held in custody until sober, which seemed to stop the 911 calls to this address.

5:22 a.m. - Report of a male trying to break into a vehicle on 111th Street. Members located and arrested a 21-year-old male who is facing charges of obstruction and three counts of failing to comply with an undertaking. Remanded into custody to appear in North Battleford Provincial Court at Monday, Jan. 20.

8:35 a.m. - Report of an intoxicated person on 113th Street. Male located, appeared to have been assaulted and was taken to hospital and treated for facial, head injuries. Could not recall what occurred.

10:42 a.m. - Theft of items from a vehicle parked on 900 block of 101st Street.

10:47 a.m. - Report of an assault at a party the night before. Suspect(s) known to alleged victim. Investigation ongoing.

5:11 p.m. - 911 call to residence on Winder Crescent. Subject arguing. No criminal incident alleged.

7:30 p.m. - Report of unwanted contact/harassment. Investigation ongoing.

Monday

12:46 a.m. - Report of failure to pay cab fare on 100th Street.

3:16 a.m. - Loud music/party complaint on St Laurent Drive. Suspect warned.
