The North Saskatchewan River Municipal Health Holdings has acquired a new nurse practitioner, Annette Robinson and physician, Dr. Langeni, board members were advised at their regular meeting Sept. 15.

They have been providing clinic services to clinics since August.

There will be a welcome tea at the Riverside Facility Oct. 9 from 1:30 - 3:30 p.m.

The NSRMHH, in co-operation with Prairie North Health Region, is working on an initiative to improve patient care and flow through the Riverside Clinic, This will consist of a Rapid Process Improvement Workshop being held at the Riverside facility in October. This is part of the LEAN program implemented by the provincial government.

The participants will include NSRMHH staff, practitioners, Prairie North staff and a community member for a week-long workshop to identify changes for the clinic.

The clinics continue to be very busy especially with the flu season just around the corner.

Those who have booked an appointment that will be no longer needed, are urged let the clinic know. According to a press release, it is frustrating for the staff and practitioners when there is an opening that could have been made available to someone in need.

The next regular meeting of the SRMHH board will be Monday, Oct. 20 at 7:30 p.m. in the RM of Mervin office, Turtleford. Anyone with questions is welcome to contract the representative from their area or the office at 306- 845-4144.
