An Onion Lake man will stand trial for the murder of another Onion Lake man.
Dakota Dean Whistone, 22, is charged with second-degree murder in connection to the death of Tyson Blair Crosschild, 30.
According to Onion Lake RCMP, police were called to a residence on Onion Lake Cree Nation at about 7 a.m. on Aug. 11, 2018. When police arrived, they found Crosschild outside the home in medical distress. The RCMP and emergency medical personnel attempted life-saving efforts. Crosschild was later pronounced deceased at hospital.
North Battleford Forensic Identification Section, North Battleford General Investigation Section and RCMP F Division Major Crime North investigated the murder.
Whitstone is scheduled to appear in Battlefords Court of Queen’s Bench June 26 to set a trial date.
