HUMBOLDT — Partners Family Services will be reopening in-person counselling sessions by appointment, as well as continue to offer telephone sessions.
The organization provides counselling services for all ages for a wide range of concerns including mental health, relationships, general stress, and family dynamics. There is no fee to use their services.
Hayley Kennedy, the executive director, said the in-person appointments will be focused on serving clients who didn’t feel comfortable engaging in virtual appointments or who felt like they weren’t getting enough out of them.
“Our offices are set up a little differently now to allow for a full two metres between counselor and their clients,” Kennedy said. “We want to make sure that everybody feels comfortable and knows we’re looking after their wellness while they’re in our offices.”
Clients who attend their in-person sessions will be required to answer some brief screening questions about their physical health as well as wash their hands before entering the session.
Telephone sessions will continue to be offered for people to choose as an option.
“What we’ve realized is phone counselling can be a great option, especially for people who have trouble travelling. So they don’t have to necessarily come into Humboldt, but they can still get those counselling services wherever they are.”
Partners Family Services can be reached at 306-682-4135.
“We’re committed to making sure individuals and families have access to the services they need, even though there have been lots of changes to how that may look on the surface,” Kennedy said. “It’s still the same services that existed before COVID.”
