Pass, Punt, and Kick winners set for provincials

Pass, Punt, and Kick regionals were held in Wynyard on Oct. 5, with winners of local competitions pitted against each other - 22 girls and 35 boys.

Pass, Punt, and Kick is a provincial competition put on by Football Saskatchewan with the intent of promoting football skills among youth 14 years and under. Archerwill, Drake, Humboldt, Leroy, Wadena, Watrous, and Wynyard were all represented. At the local level, competitors can try their hand at more than one category. At the regional level, they have to pick one category.

The winners in Wynyard are as follows:

10 and under girls
Pass: Olivia Stephanuik (Wynyard)
Punt: Anne Hodgson (Guernsey)
Kick: Raea Lamont (Wynyard)

10 and under boys
Pass: Ben Yungmann (Annaheim)
Punt: Tyler Gudjonson (Wynyard)
Kick: Aidan Paslowski (Humboldt)

12 and under girls
Pass: Tori Stefanick (Wynyard)
Punt: Emily Thomas (Watrous)
Kick: Aimie Eelkema (Wynyard)

12 and under boys
Pass: Kalen Ukrainetz (Wynyard)
Punt: Dakota Smith (Humboldt)
Kick: Zak Freeman (Watrous)

14 and under girls
Pass: Logan Shannon (Wynyard)
Punt: Julia Pomedli (Wadena)
Kick: Alyssa Lindal (Wynyard)

14 and under boys
Pass: Graham Chase (Archerwill)
Punt: Caleb Hodgson (Guernsey)
Kick: Triston Stadnyk (Wynyard)

Regional winners go on to provincials on Oct. 25. Two sets of provincial competitions take place in Saskatoon and Regina. The 18 combined winners from provincials go on to receive a plaque at the Saskatchewan Roughriders' last home game in Regina on Nov. 8.
