The City of North Battleford and Battlefords Tourism have announced the winners of the Best of the Battlefords' photo contest.
There were more than 75 photo submissions and five were chosen as the winners. They are:
Best Overall: "Bridges" by Barb Mitchell
Sports and Recreation: "Water Skier" by Krista Peterson
Vacation: "Hunt's Cove" by Karen Williams
Urban Life: "North Battleford Sky Line" by Anand George
Events: "Dancer" by Davorin Bajalovic
Paul Sayers of Viewpoint Photographic Design, James Risdon from the City of North Battleford and Ryan Bater of Battlefords Tourism judged the entries on Oct. 2.
According to Bater, "This year's entries showed incredible creativity and talent while showcasing the theme of the contest - the best of the Battlefords. This made the process of judging very difficult, as there were so many deserving entries."
Sponsoring prizes for the winners were Viewpoint Photographic Design, Battleford Furniture, City of North Battleford, and Battlefords Tourism.
The photographs selected as the winners will be shown at Battlefords River Valley Visitor Centre from Nov. 1 until the end of next year's contest. The winning entries can also be seen on materials used to promote the Battlefords including the Official Battlefords Visitor Guide and the new Battlefords App.
