Police field nine false 911 calls

Battlefords RCMP responded to an unusual number of false/nuisance 911 calls between 6 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 22 and 6 a.m. Monday, Feb. 24. Among the more than 40 calls for service/occurrences responded to were nine of those calls.

Battlefords RCMP responded to an unusual number of false/nuisance 911 calls between 6 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 22 and 6 a.m. Monday, Feb. 24.


Among the more than 40 calls for service/occurrences responded to were nine of those calls. Three alarms were also checked into.


Friday


9:32 a.m. - Single vehicle collision on bridge. No injuries, vehicle did obstruct traffic briefly and had to be towed from scene.


10:55 a.m. - Complaint of shoplifting on 101st Street. Suspect fled, but did not get away with any property. He has been identified and banned from business, no charges pursued as per wishes of business.


5:00 p.m. - Harassment complaint filed. Suspect warned about actions.


7:41 p.m. - Unwanted intoxicated person at a residence on Clark Drive. Suspect left when police called and not located.


7:47 p.m. - 14-year-old male charged with breach of probation on 1400 block of 104th Street.


9:30 p.m. - 24-year-old man arrested and facing charges of impaired care and control of a vehicle, care and control of a vehicle while over .08 and failing to remain at the scene of an accident after a hit and run was reported on Railway Avenue East.


10:06 p.m. - Loud music complaint on St Laurent Drive. Warning given.


10:30 p.m. - 29-year-old man arrested for public intoxication on 101st Street and report of passed out man.


11:10 p.m. - 17-year-old male facing charge of breach of probation order, for violation of curfew.


Saturday


2:41 a.m. - Two female suspects at a residence on 101st Street broke a window. Still under investigation.


8:31 a.m. - Call to Clark Drive. Female called requesting police attend and claimed to have been assaulted. No signs of injury, subject very intoxicated wanted a male arrested, but refused to say who. Advised subject was causing problems and refusing to leave party. Subject left and then started causing problems at another residence and so was arrested and held in custody until sober.


6:28 p.m. - 49-year-old man arrested and charged after report of a male entering a bar and stealing money from the tip jar.


8:20 p.m. - Report of a suspicious male on 99th Street. Subject located and taken to a shelter for the evening.
