Police make 15 arrests

Battlefords RCMP made 15 arrests between 6 a.m. Friday, Jan. 3 and 6 a.m. Monday, Jan. 6, while responding to more than 70 calls for service/occurrences. Also attended were two alarms and there were four false/nuisance 911 calls. Friday 7:15 a.m.

Battlefords RCMP made 15 arrests between 6 a.m. Friday, Jan. 3 and 6 a.m. Monday, Jan. 6, while responding to more than 70 calls for service/occurrences.


Also attended were two alarms and there were four false/nuisance 911 calls.


Friday


7:15 a.m. - 14-year-old boy arrested in area of 110th Street in connection with thefts from motor vehicles. Members alerted by witness who noted subject looking into vehicles in area. Investigation ongoing.


8:38 a.m. - Recovered property, believed to be stolen, on Meighen Crescent. Some clothing located in alley with price tags still attached.


8:57 a.m. - Missing person reported. Last seen on Jan. 1 in the morning. Subject located shortly after 1:30 p.m.


9:09 a.m. - Vehicle parked on 2000 block of Foley Drive had a window damaged sometime overnight.


12:48 p.m. - Vehicle parked on 1000 block of 109th Street had a window damaged sometime overnight.


12:59 p.m. - Report of a vehicle hitting a parked trailer on 100th Street. No injuries. Minor damage to property.


2:02 p.m. - 911 call to residence on 109th Street. Complainant reporting there is a woman banging at his door and screaming at him, saying she will call the police because he stole her PS3 controller. All parties spoken to, no evidence of a criminal act and warned about noise.


2:36 p.m. - 62-year-old man arrested for disturbing the peace after call of intoxicated man acting aggressively towards others on 107th Street. Held in custody until sober.


3:33 p.m. - Report of three bags of recyclable cans stolen by complainant's son and his friend. Property was returned a short time later.


4:55 p.m. - Report of an assault on Railway Avenue East. No injuries alleged. All parties already separated when reported. Matter remains under investigation.


5:03 p.m. - Fraud complaint. Victim was contacted by someone claiming to be a relative who needed cash due to legal problems they were having. Cash was transferred by victim. Reminder this is a common phone scam in use for several years. Perpetrators will contact a person, claim to be a grandchild, nephew, etc in need of financial assistance due to legal problems they are having in another province/country. Do not forward any funds. Report such incidents immediately to nearest police detachment.


5:07 p.m. - Uttering threats complaint made. Investigation ongoing.


7:25 p.m. - Report of a woman refusing to pay an outstanding cab fare. Subject provided attending member with a false name. A 49-year-old woman was arrested and has been charged with obstruction and two counts of breach of an undertaking. Remanded into custody and will appear on North Battleford Provincial Court on Monday, Jan. 6.


7:58 p.m. - Vehicle stolen on 1500 block of 100th Street. Left running and unattended for a brief period of time. The vehicle is a 2000 green Ford Taurus with Saskatchewan License 593 INM.


8:00 p.m. - Single vehicle rollover at Highway 16 overpass near bridges. No injuries. Vehicle towed from scene.


8:52 p.m. - Complainant being followed as she drives around city. Complainant borrowed a vehicle from a friend, and that friend's daughter doesn't like the complainant's boyfriend, so she is following the complainant around city. All parties spoken to and advised to stop. Another call came in of the same people later, this time through 911, with the same issue and again spoken to about maybe growing up a little. No further complaints.


9:30 p.m. - Tires of vehicle parked on Winder Crescent slashed. Possible suspect identified. Still under investigation.


11:55 p.m. - 22-year-old man arrested on outstanding warrants for breach of undertaking, to appear in court on Monday, Jan. 6.


Saturday


12:58 a.m. - Party/noise complaint on St. Laurent Drive. Warning given.


12:59 a.m. - Party/noise complaint on St. Laurent Drive. Warning given.


1:19 a.m. - Theft reported from a business. Two of the suspects known to complainant. Remains under investigation.


3:21 a.m. - 32-year-old woman arrested for public intoxication on 101st Street.


4:41 a.m. - 911 call of a possible stabbing on 102nd Street. No stabbing, turned out to be two intoxicated brothers fighting. 18- and 20-year-old males arrested for causing a disturbance.


5:40 a.m. - Report of an intoxicated man on 100th Street who may be driving. Suspect located near his vehicle with keys in hand, very intoxicated. Arrested for public intoxication and to prevent an impaired driving incident. Held in custody until sober.


7:43 a.m. - 911 call of an assault at a residence on Asquith Avenue. Found to have been an argument between two persons, matter calmed down when members attended.


9:31 a.m. - Complaint of theft from a residence on 100th Street. Complainant and suspect know each other. Matter still under investigation.


10:08 a.m. - Report of an assault having occurred on St. Laurent Drive earlier in the morning. No injuries. All parties known to each other. Still under investigation.


1:41 p.m. - 911 call to a residence on 108th Street. Two siblings arguing.


4:10 p.m. - 911 call of unwanted, intoxicated person at a residence on Winder Crescent. 33-year-old man arrested for mischief. No charges pursued.


7:17 p.m. - 20-year-old man from the Waterhen Lake First Nation reported missing, believed to be in or around North Battleford. Still not located, though has made contact with family through the Internet. Police are still looking to confirm that Zachary Ernest is fine. Anyone with any information is asked to contact North Battleford RCMP.


10:00 p.m. - 36-year-old man arrested and charged with three counts of failing to comply with an undertaking, located intoxicated on 9th Avenue. Remanded and to appear in court Monday, Jan. 6.


11:15 p.m. - 911 call of a fight/disturbance at a residence on 108th Street. Several intoxicated persons involved in a fight at location. 60-year-old woman arrested on scene for outstanding warrants and in connection with incident. A 31-year-old man and another 34-year-old woman also arrested. All parties held in custody until sober. No new charges stemming from this incident.


11:22 p.m. - Report of suspicious person near a residence on Campbell Crescent. Patrols negative.


Sunday


1:06 a.m. - 40-year-old man arrested and facing charges of impaired driving and driving while over .08 after the vehicle he was operating on Centennial Crescent struck a parked vehicle.


1:52 a.m. - Vehicle struck a parked vehicle on 16th Avenue. No injuries. No alcohol involved.


2:28 a.m. - Loud party complaint on St. Laurent Drive. Subject warned and party shut down.


7:25 a.m. - Complaint of money stolen from subject at residence on 95th Street. Suspect known to complainant.


10:54 a.m. - Hit and run to vehicle parked on 1600 block of 101st Street sometime overnight.


12:11 p.m. - Vehicle parked on 1800 block of 97th Street had windshield damaged sometime overnight.


5:42 p.m. - Theft of cash from a residence on 102nd Street. Suspect known to complainant.


8:16 p.m. - Vehicle left warming up on 1600 block of 97th Street stolen. 2008 blue Ford Escape with Saskatchewan license 885 IMF.


8:30 p.m. - 24-year-old man arrested on 100th Street, found to be in violation of a conditional sentence order. To appear in court Monday, Jan. 6.


9:07 p.m. - 16-year-old man arrested and charged with failing to comply with undertaking, found intoxicated on 16th Avenue. To appear on provincial court on Monday, Jan. 6.
