Innovation Credit Union talked about progress at their annual meeting held Monday night in Swift Current and at branches across the province.
Innovation's board of directors reported a successful year in 2013. Board president Gord Lightfoot announced a patronage payment to members of approximately $2.88 million.
As well, Innovation announced it would pay members a cash dividend of 4.84 per cent based on active equity accounts as at Dec. 31, 2013.
Innovation CEO Dan Johnson also spoke at the meeting and touted a strong operations report based on its "balanced scorecard" measuring finance, business, growth, people and risk.
It was noted that according to this scorecard Innovation had improved in all areas compared to 2011. At that point in time the "risk" category was worrisome, it was noted. Now, most areas in that scorecard were shaded "green," indicating positive results.
Johnson noted the trends were going in the right direction, and also made the announcement that Innovation Credit Union was no longer under supervision by the Credit Union Deposit Guarantee Corporation, measures put in place after a management shakeup of a few years ago.
Results were also announced for elections to the board for this year. In District 2, both Gwen Humphrey and Denis Perrault were returned to the board by acclamation.
In District 1, three people were nominated for two positions: Jerome Bru (incumbent), Ian Twidale (incumbent) and Dan McEachern from the Battlefords.
President Gord Lightfoot announced both Bru and Twidale were successful and have been elected again to the board.
The meeting also featured Chris Getzlaf of the Saskatchewan Roughriders as a featured speaker.
The annual meeting took place at Sky Centre at the Living Sky Casino in Swift Current and was webcast to locales across the province. One of them was the North Battleford branch, which streamed the meeting live to the group of individuals who attended there.
