The assessor's office in North Battleford has completed its assessment of properties in the city and those can now be found at City Hall.

The values are based on a Jan. 1, 2011 base rate, and are based on numerous factors including age, lot size, location and quality. The assessor encourages residents to come to City Hall where they can find their property values for the year.

"We encourage residents to review their assessment notices and invite them to review the assessment roll at City Hall anytime between now and March 15," said City Assessor Gail Adams in a statement Jan. 17.

All buildings and structures are assessed. That will include porches, decks, garages and other structures that add value to the property. Not kept are records for improvements on amenities such as fences, driveways and landscaping features; however these factors are said to impact average property selling prices and are accounted for in the market adjustment factor.

Those wishing to review their assessment with an assessor on an individual basis must set up an appointment Jan. 29 between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. or Jan. 30 between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.
