April 6 marks the one-year anniversary of the collision that occurred between the Humboldt Broncos team bus and a semi at the intersection of Highway 35 and 335.

This weekend will bring people to the highway memorial site. The Government of Saskatchewan reminds all travellers to keep safety top of mind when stopping or passing through the area.

In preparation, the Ministry of Highways and Infrastructure has laid geo-textile fabric to help prevent the site from becoming muddy and has installed reduced speed signage and message boards to remind the travelling public of “Foot Traffic and Parked Vehicles in Area, Slow Down to 60km/hr”.

The Saskatchewan Highway Patrol and RCMP will have a heavier presence in the area throughout the weekend.
