Update: RCMP arrest suspect after assault at NBCHS

RCMP ask for name and photo to be removed online.

NORTH BATTLEFORD - Battlefords RCMP say they have located and arrested the 16-year-old they were searching for as he is believed to be involved in the assault that occurred at North Battleford Comprehensive High School earlier this afternoon.

A release said he was arrested at 3 p.m. without incident.

RCMP have asked media to remove his name and photo from online reporting as the suspect is a youth.

At the time of releasing his name and photo, police said they considered him to be armed and dangerous.

A release from the City of North Battleford indicated the assault was reported a 12:04 p.m. by officials with the school. The victim was transported to a hospital in another jurisdiction for treatment of what RCMP are calling a non-life-threatening injury."

The release also said RCMP considered it a targeted incident and both victims were known to one another. The suspect was located off school grounds at a residence and was apprehended by police at approximately 3 p.m
