RCMP seek Sask. Hospital escapee

A 32-year-old man who escaped from secure custody at the Saskatchewan Hospital forensic unit is described as being in an unstable mental state and has a history of violence, according to an RCMP release issued Monday afternoon.

Police say Joseph Simon Peter Yaremko is believed to have been picked up in a vehicle by an accomplice outside of the facility and may be destined for Prince Albert or Saskatoon. Police received a report of his escape Sunday at about 8:45 p.m


Yaremko is described as Caucasian, 5'10" 210 lbs, with tattoos on his neck. He was last seen wearing a white t-shirt and black sweat pants. Anyone with information of his whereabouts is asked to contact their local police service.
