Report of intoxicated man with tiny machete, no co-operation from witnesses

The North Battleford RCMP received approximately 100 calls for service between 6 a.m. Friday, Oct. 17 and 6 a.m. Monday, Oct. 20.

The North Battleford RCMP received approximately 100 calls for service between 6 a.m. Friday, Oct. 17 and 6 a.m. Monday, Oct. 20.


Included in the calls over the three-day period were four false/nuisance 911 calls, four child welfare investigations, six false alarms, 13 traffic investigations, 14 municipal bylaw/disturbance complains and one fraud investigation.


Friday


7:03 a.m. - Sometime overnight on 1000 block of 109th Street bag of leaves was opened and scattered in a yard and a light bulb stolen.


11:57 a.m. - 42-year-old man arrested for causing a disturbance, located intoxicated and causing a scene on 101st Street. Charged under the Alcohol and Gaming Regulations Act and released when sober.


2:26 p.m. - Report of a disturbance at a business on 102nd Street, learned to be an argument between owners and parties already separated prior to members arrival.


4:59 p.m. - Missing 14-year-old youth reported. UPDATE: Youth located on 100th Street shortly before 9 p.m. Oct. 20.


6:43 p.m. - Report of a man damaging property and causing a disturbance on 106th Street. Suspect was gone upon police arrival. As a result of the investigation, an 18-year-old man is facing charges of break and enter, two counts of mischief to property and failing to comply with a no contact order on an undertaking. Suspect and victim are known to each other. At this time, suspect remains at large.


9:00 p.m. - Report of two missing youth from a group home. Both did return the following day.


10:37 p.m. - Call of a possible break and enter to a home on 111th Street. Caller returned home and found it to be not secure. Home cleared by members and nothing appeared to have been disturbed. Possibly simply forgot to lock door.


10:47 p.m. - Hit and run reported at a parking lot on 100th Street. Suspect vehicle hit a vehicle and fled southbound down an alley. 26-year-old man was later arrested and has been charged with failing to remain at scene of an accident and failing to comply with an undertaking. He has since been released and will make his first appearance in North Battleford Provincial Court Nov. 17.


10:47 p.m. - 911 call of unwanted guest in a home on 112th Street. Suspect located and provided a ride to another residence by members to keep the peace.


11:50 p.m. - Call of a man banging on complainant's back door on Trudeau Street for 15 minutes. Told to leave but still knocking on door. 35-year-old man located by members, very intoxicated and found to be on conditions not to consume alcohol. He was arrested and charged, later released from custody and will make his first appearance in North Battleford Provincial Court Nov. 17.


11:57 p.m. - 911 call of a fight at a residence on 102nd Street. Members attended and arrested a 19-year-old man for mischief. Subject intoxicated and refusing to leave when requested. Held in custody until sober.


Saturday


3:00 a.m. - Members on foot patrol arrested a 32-year-old woman for being drunk in public. Located very intoxicated subject on 101st Street having difficulty walking. Held in custody until sober.


3:22 a.m. - Very intoxicated person reported to be causing a disturbance at a home on 104th Street. 16-year-old youth arrested near scene and held in custody until sober.


8:10 a.m. - Mischief to a garage on 105th Street overnight. Unknown person spray-painted door.


8:11 a.m. - Report of several vehicles on Dean's Crescent egged.


3:03 p.m. - Call of some overdue travellers. Both confirmed to be okay and safe several hours later.


3:05 p.m. - Report of a man threatening complainant on 101st Street. Suspect known to complainant. Investigation still ongoing.


3:17 p.m. - If you are on conditions to not consume alcohol, it is probably not a good idea to attend the detachment and tell members on duty that you are inebriated. 43-year-old man now facing charge of breach of probation.


3:19 p.m. - 31-year-old man charged with theft under $5,000 after report of shoplifting at a business on Railway Avenue East.


3:24 p.m. - Call of a hit and run at a parking lot on Carlton Trail. Suspect vehicle located a short time later. It had backed up, struck a second vehicle and did not realize there had been a collision. Minor damage to both vehicle. No charges being pursued. 


4:57 p.m. - Call to 109th Street and report of an intoxicated man armed with a tiny machete. Subject was gone from area upon arrival and there was no co-operation from witnesses still at scene.


5:29 p.m. - 31-year-old man arrested for causing a disturbance and charged after call of intoxicated man swearing at people on 101st Street.


7:03 p.m. - Report of a certified patient missing. Subject located within short order.


8:41 p.m. - 911 call of an assault at a residence on 102nd Street. 21-year-old woman arrested, very intoxicated and held in custody until sober. No charges pursued due to lack of co-operating victim/witness.


11:08 p.m. - Report of an individual being assaulted in area of 11th Avenue and 108th Street. No persons located at or near scene. Checks at hospital also negative. No further information received to date.


11:45 p.m. - Call to a residence on 104th Street of intoxicated person causing a disturbance. 15-year-old man located and arrested on scene found to be in possession of a knife at time of arrest. Charged with carrying a concealed weapon and breach of undertaking. 


Sunday


1:32 a.m. - 23-year-old man arrested for causing a disturbance after a complaint of a man banging at a door on 106th Street. 


2:49 a.m. - 911 call of an assault in progress on Hamelin Street. 22-year-old man arrested for assault and outstanding warrants. No new charges pursued due to lack of cooperation from alleged victim. 


10:07 a.m. - Report of two people fighting/arguing on Miller Road. 24-year-old man was arrested on scene for public intoxication. Both denied any physical altercation occurred.


2:23 p.m. - Report of a break and enter to a business on 19th Avenue. Window damaged, however, no entry believed to have been gained.


2:52 p.m. - Call of man sleeping on shoulder on Highway 4. 33-year-old man located and arrested. Held in custody until sober.


3:41 p.m. - Group of intoxicated persons reported on Railway Avenue East. 42-year-old man arrested and charged with public intoxication. Several other individuals warned to leave area and go home.


4:31 p.m. - Report of an assault at a business on Highway 16 bypass. Both parties known to each other. Investigation still ongoing.


5:07 p.m. - Vehicle damage on St. Laurent Drive some time over last 48 hours. Someone spray-painted a vehicle while parked on street.


6:06 p.m. - Missing person reported. Complainant hasn't seen or heard from his 14-year-old daughter for two weeks and now is starting to get worried. Located by members a short time later with other family members. 


6:44 p.m. - Call of an unwanted person from a yard on 110th Street. Both left prior to police attending. One was located and found to be very intoxicated, arrested and held in custody until sober.


8:08 p.m. - Call of a disturbance at a residence on St. Laurent Drive. Suspect threatening to beat up another occupant of residence and very intoxicated. 19-year-old woman arrested and held in custody until sober. No charges pursued.


11:52 p.m. - Victim reporting being assaulted on 102nd Crescent. Victim sustained some facial and head injuries in assault and was treated. Suspect is known to victim and investigation is ongoing. Charges still pending at this time.


Monday


223 a.m. - Vehicle parked at a lot on 107th Street with damaged window and flat tire.
