The expected increase in North Saskatchewan River water flow was evident in the area around the Old Bridges and the Highway 16 bridge at noon today.
These photos show the customary sand bars well submerged and the swiftly flowing water finding its way out into bank overflow areas.
Last reports from the City of North Battleford indicate the water is expected to peak at 3,800 cubic metres per second and is being described as a one in 50 year event. The flow is expected to peak Wednesday evening or Thursday morning.
It is anticipated the peak will bring the river three metres above normal.
