A 23-year-old man was sent to hospital following a single vehicle rollover on a grid road east of North Battleford Thursday.

The rollover happened on Wearing Road, about two kilometers to the east of Territorial Drive at around 4:30 p.m.

According to North Battleford Fire and Emergency Services, road conditions were extremely poor due to wet conditions. The incident involved a truck going westbound on Wearing road near the turnoff to the landfill, which hit a washout or run and lost control, entering the north ditch.

The driver of the vehicle suffered undetermined injuries and was transported to hospital by ambulance, where he was listed in stable condition. The passenger in the vehicle was treated on scene.

No extrication was required.

In the wake of the accident WPD Ambulance is urging people to remember that grid roads are slick with all the rain, so people need to slow down and take their time.
