Once again, the Rotary Club of the Battlefords has had to postpone its “Out of this World” celebration event with Col. Chris Hadfield.
In a letter from Rotary received by city administration dated Sept. 15, it was confirmed that the event with Hadfield scheduled for Oct. 9 has been postponed to Oct. 22, 2021 — by which time it is hoped the COVID-19 pandemic will finally be over.
All previous details regarding venue and time remain in effect, with the only change being the new date. Plans by Rotary were to hold an afternoon event featuring Hadfield speaking to high school students at the North Battleford Comprehensive High School, followed in the evening by a gala event at the Dekker Centre.
If the new date is not satisfactory for ticket holders, Rotary will refund tickets until Aug. 10, 2021.
This is the second time the Hadfield event has been postponed due to the pandemic. The original date for the Centennial celebration had been April 24, 2020.
