Good news for cellphone owners in Radisson and Marshall - SaskTel has enhanced the 4G wireless network coverage to both.

SaskTel finished installing new carriers in both communities that will increase the capacity of the 4G network in the area. SaskTel estimates that dropped call rates will be about one per cent and dropped data sessions will be about 0.5 per cent.

Randy Weekes and Tim McMillan, the MLAs from Biggar and Lloydminster, respectively, praised the new network.

SaskTel had allocated $70 million for wireless network enhancements in 2012, but an unprecedented growth in demand required them to increase their budget to $100 million. The new investment led to a total of 200 projects across the province, from new towers to mobile cell sites and carriers.
