Battlefords Union Hospital Foundation is receiving support from SaskTel in the amount of $1,650 for sponsorship of the 2019 Festival of Trees. The Festival of Trees is in its 24th year of ushering in the Christmas season for the Battlefords and will take place from Friday, Nov 29 to Thursday, Dec 5, at Western Development Museum. Proceeds will support the purchase of a new ventilator for respiratory therapy at BUH.
“We are pleased to be able to purchase a new ventilator for BUH. The new unit will safely and effectively assist in breathing for individuals from premature babies to adults. The previous unit could not be used with babies and small children, so this new unit is truly enriching patient care at BUH,” says Claudette McGuire, BUH Foundation executive director. “The Festival of Trees is a tradition in the Battlefords and offers us a way to celebrate the Christmas season with the community, while raising important funds for new medical equipment at BUH. We are grateful for our sponsors who support this event and make these purchases possible.”
SaskTel sponsorship will support Family Day on Sunday, Dec 1. This is a fun-filled day of activities for families to enjoy, including pictures with Santa, horse-drawn wagon rides, crafts with the North Stars and a Frozen Dance Party. SaskTel’s generous sponsorship will also go towards the beautifully decorated items that make the Festival of Trees come to life. The decorated trees, wreaths and swags will be up for silent auction throughout the Festival of Trees.
As a supporter of the Festival of Trees since the beginning, BUH Foundation is pleased to have SaskTel return as a sponsor and a proud supporter of enriched healthcare in the Battlefords.
“Saskatchewan is our home and supporting the local communities we serve is an important part of what makes us SaskTel,” said Doug Burnett, SaskTel president and CEO. “We’re excited to join with all the other sponsors of BUH Foundation’s Festival of Trees in their efforts to purchase life changing equipment that can make all the difference for those who need it.”
