SaskTel waives data overage charges for wildfire-hit communities

Starting May 16 and running to May 31, SaskTel waives all data overage charges for customers in Buffalo Narrows, Buffalo River Dene Nation, Dillon, English River First Nation, La Loche, Michel Village, Patuanak, and St. Georges Hill.

Minister for SaskTel Don Morgan announces in a news release that SaskTel data overage charges will be waived.

REGINA - SaskTel has announced Tuesday it will waive data overage charges for all SaskTel customers living in communities impacted by the current wildfires in northern Saskatchewan.

According to their news release, starting May 16 and running to May 31, 2023, SaskTel waives all data overage charges for customers living in Buffalo Narrows, Buffalo River Dene Nation, Dillon, English River First Nation, La Loche, Michel Village, Patuanak, and St. Georges Hill. SaskTel says it will also credit customers for the duration of any service outages for SaskTel Home Phone, and Internet service.

"Our government understands how critical it is for families to be able to connect with loved ones and their support networks in times of crisis, and our thoughts are with all of those who have been impacted by the fires burning in our province,” said Don Morgan, Minister Responsible for SaskTel, in a statement.
