School bus involved in one of three crashes

Six false alarms were among the approximately 20 calls for service/occurrences responded to by Battlefords RCMP between 6 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 7 and 6 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 8. Tuesday 6:43 a.m. - Single vehicle collision reported on Highway 16 bypass.

Six false alarms were among the approximately 20 calls for service/occurrences responded to by Battlefords RCMP between 6 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 7 and 6 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 8.

Tuesday

6:43 a.m. - Single vehicle collision reported on Highway 16 bypass. Responding members located single vehicle in ditch after losing control on icy roads. No injuries and no traffic disruptions.

11:16 a.m. - Minor two-vehicle collision on 100th Street. Road conditions a factor. No injuries.

12:01 a.m. - Two-vehicle collision involving a school bus near 18th Avenue and 101st Street. No passengers on the bus were injured. A passenger in the other vehicle suffered non-serious injuries. The school bus sustained some minor damage, The second involved vehicle was towed from the scene. Cause is still under investigation.

3:41 p.m. - Report of identity theft. Matter dates back several years.

7:36 p.m. - 62-year-old man arrested for public intoxication on Railway Avenue East, reported to be passing out in a business.

10:00 p.m. - 40-year-old man has been arrested and charged with assault after members called to a residence on the 1300 block of 106th Street reporting a domestic dispute. The victim was not injured in the alleged assault. The suspect in the matter had already fled the area and was located a short time later at another residence and arrested without incident. He remains in custody and will appear in North Battleford Provincial Court at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday.
