For a second day in a row extreme windchills have grounded school buses in Living Sky School Division.
According to a statement on the Living Sky division's website, all North Battleford and Battleford, Leoville, Spiritwood, Hafford, Maymont and Medstead bus routes are cancelled for Friday January 12, 2018 due to extreme cold and windchills that are forecast to become worse through the day.
Living Sky School Division's policy states that buses will not run if the combined temperate/wind chill factors result in a reading of -40°C or below before the bus driver’s route begins in the morning. Poor visibility, severe snow drifting and icy roads are also a factor. Buses that do not run in the morning also do not run after school.
