NORTH BATTLEFORD - A special meeting of Planning Committee is scheduled for Thursday night, Nov. 18, as budget deliberations continue in North Battleford.

The meeting begins at 5:15 PM and will commence on the Zoom platform. This will be the second Planning Committee meeting this week to deal with the 2022 budget. Council is still considering administration's proposed tax increase of 7.48 percent, and proposed utilities increase of three percent.

On the agenda of tonight's meeting are council information requests for the 2022 budget and additional items, followed at 5:25 p.m. by the presentation from Parks and Recreation Services. That is expected to be followed around 6:25 p.m. by budget discussions including third party grant requests.

Should all the items in the 2022 budget be dealt with and settled tonight, the next step would be for the 2022 budget to go to the regular council meeting on Dec. 13 for adoption. If there are still some loose ends, there could still be a further deliberation session or sessions scheduled before that time.
