Semi-truck driver connected to Broncos crash out of jail with conditions

MELFORT — The driver of the semi that hit the Humboldt Broncos team bus is out of jail – with conditions. Jaskirat Sidhu, who appeared in Melfort Provincial Court July 10, will have to pay $1,000 in bail.

Jaskirat Sidhu, who appeared in Melfort Provincial Court July 10, will have to pay $1,000 in bail.

Conditions he must follow include appearing in court when summoned, not to operate a motor vehicle, remain at his Calgary home, stay within his home from 11 p.m. to 7 a.m., stay within 100 kilometres of his home unless he has permission, come to the door when RCMP come to his home, go to doctor’s and psychiatrist’s appointments and report to the RCMP every week by person or by phone. Any passports Sidhu has are null and void and he cannot apply for a new one.

Sidhu will appear in Melfort Provincial Court again Aug. 21.
