Between 6 a.m. Tuesday, July 7 and 6 a.m. Wednesday, July 8, Battlefords RCMP responded to approximately 50 calls for service. Police are seeking information into the following incidents:
Tuesday, July 7
- Around 7:15 a.m., someone reported that there was a fight at their neighbour’s house on the 1800 block of 92nd Street. Officers went to the house and one male was arrested in relation to the event and the investigation is ongoing.
- A vehicle parked on the 1000 block of 109th Street was broken into overnight and electronics were stolen from it. Someone turned in the stolen property at the RCMP detachment and it was returned to the owner.
- There was a report of a male and female trying to shoplift from a business on Railway Avenue around noon. They were not successful in stealing anything and they left the area before officers arrived.
- Officers assisted WPD Ambulance around 2 p.m. with a male who had fallen on the sidewalk and was injured.
- There was a complaint of youth lighting firecrackers on 107th Street at 2:37 p.m. The individuals were not located.
- Another business on Railway Avenue reported a group of shoplifters around 5:40 p.m. The investigation is ongoing.
- Someone called requesting officers to assist in removing an intoxicated woman from a residence on the 800 block of 109th Street at 10:11 p.m. The 21-year-old woman was found to be breaching the conditions of her conditional sentence order to abstain from alcohol. She was arrested and held in custody for court the following morning.
- Officers went to a residence on the 1400 block of 109th Street after a report of an assault at 11:05 p.m. A male youth was arrested and charged with assault with a weapon and forcible confinement. He was held in custody for court the next morning.
- There were a couple reports of a gun being fired on the 1200 block of 105th Street close to 11:30 p.m. A window was smashed and no one was injured.
Wednesday, July 8
- Officers went to a residence on the 1700 block of 110th Street after there was a complaint of a group of people yelling just after midnight. A 23-year-old man was breaching his probation order at that location and was arrested and held in custody until he was sober. He is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
- There was a complaint at 3:30 a.m. of an intoxicated male on the 1000 block of 107th Street who was located by officers. The male was arrested for being intoxicated in public and for outstanding warrants. He was held in custody to appear in court.
- Someone reported a fight at a residence on the 1600 block of 99th Street at 4:30 a.m. A 20-year-old woman was arrested for assault and a 22-year-old man was arrested for obstruction for giving officers a false name. The male was breaching the conditions of his recognizance and was charged with that offence as well.
- There was a report of a smashed vehicle window that had occurred overnight on Winder Crescent.
- Someone reported that their vehicle had been broken into on the 1400 block of 103rd Street and there were items stolen from it.
In the same time period, there were nine disturbances reported, one traffic complaint, three nuisance 911 calls, and three false alarms.
