Sunday at approximately 12:50 a.m. Battleford RCMP responded to a complaint at the resort village of Aquadeo where a boat collided with the dock. Six people from the Wilkie were injured.
WPD Ambulance as well as STARS Air Ambulance attended the scene to treat those who were injured as a result of this collision. There were seven adults, six males and one female, in the boat at the time of the collision. One 22-year-old man was taken by STARS Air Ambulance to Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon suffering from what was reported to be a life-threatening injury.
The remaining people were treated on scene and some also transported to Battlefords Union Hospital for treatment of what were reported to be non-life-threatening injuries. Those taken to Battlefords hospital have since been released.
Sunday, RCMP said the adult male at Royal University Hospital remains in critical condition.
Alcohol is believed to be a contributing factor. The investigation into this collision is ongoing with charges pending.
The resort village of Aquadeo located is 30 minutes north of North Battleford on the north end of Jackfish Lake.
