Stolen cat returned to owner

The Battlefords RCMP responded to approximately 132 calls for service during between 6 a.m. Friday, July 3 and 6 a.m. Sunday, July 5.

Friday

• Complaint of theft of truck from an address on Clements Drive. The truck was taken sometime overnight from the driveway. This vehicle was later recovered on Red Pheasant Cree Nation. This matter is still under investigation.

Saturday

• Multiple complaints about loud noise/disturbances at a licensed premise in Battleford.

• Complaint of theft of bikes from a cabin on Donald Crescent in Cochin.

• Theft of sandwiches from a business on 100th Street. One male was apprehended shortly afterwards but a second male has yet to be identified.

• Theft of a garden wagon from the yard of an address on the 1000 block of 103rd Street. The wagon is of unknown make and may have a flat tire.

• Report of kids skateboarding at the Post Office in Battleford. Patrols were made, the kids were not located.

• Report of theft of cat that occurred a week ago. Complainant did not have proof at the time but they do now. The cat was seen in the window of a home in Battleford. The complainant was waiting outside the address for police to attend. Police attended and determined ownership of the cat and it was returned to the rightful owner.

• Several complaints of a car alarm sounding continually over the past few days on St. Laurent Drive. Police attended and located the registered owner and had the battery disconnected to stop the noise.

The Battlefords RCMP responded to several calls of intoxicated people in public and alcohol related disturbances. Other investigations included 12 911 Act calls, seven false alarms, two Mental Health Act, 14 traffic related occurrences, two Fire Prevention Act, one Child Welfare Act, 2 Missing Persons, 7 Liquor Acts and 27 Disturbing the municipal bylaw related occurrences.
