Stolen vehicle found burned in rural area

It was a long weekend for North Battleford RCMP, who were called to more than 50 occurrences between 6 a.m. Sunday, May 18 and 6 a.m. Monday, May 19.

It was a long weekend for North Battleford RCMP, who were called to more than 50 occurrences between 6 a.m. Sunday, May 18 and 6 a.m. Monday, May 19.

Among those calls were six traffic/driving complaints, four false nuisance 911 calls, three false alarms and two municipal bylaw complaints.

Sunday

10:58 a.m. - 911 call of a loud, belligerent man at a business on 98th Street. Subject left when police called and was not located and did not return.

12:47 p.m. - A 1996 GMC Jimmy reported stolen from 101st Street. Vehicle located in rural area completely burned a short time later. Investigation is continuing.

1:32 p.m. - Report of several items damaged and stolen from a residence on 104th Street.

4:21 p.m. - 44-year-old man arrested on 107th Street very intoxicated and in violation of his probation order.

6:29 p.m. - Seven-year-old child reported missing, last seen six hours earlier. Members located child a short time later with some friends and returned home.

7:17 p.m. - Report of intoxicated persons neglecting to properly care for their children. Four children between one and eight removed from a home on Trudeau Street and turned over to sober family members after members located two very intoxicated persons at residence.

7:54 p.m. - 52-year-old man arrested from causing a disturbance at a business on Railway Avenue East, very intoxicated and very noisy. Charged under the Alcohol and Gaming Regulations Act.

11:04 p.m. - 15-year-old youth reported missing from a group home. Later returned on his own.

11:30 p.m. - Man attended detachment claiming someone had tried to stab him. When questioned on matter the man advised that was in fact not true, he simply got into a short fist fight with someone. He was also quite intoxicated and on probation with includes the condition not to consume alcohol. Arrested and charged.

Monday

2:31 a.m. - Shoplifting complaint from a business on 100th Street. Suspect was already gone from area. Surveillance footage for review pending.

3:59 a.m. - Break and enter to a home on 1600 block of 101st Street. One or more suspects fled when confronted by homeowners. One suspect described as First Nations, 5'6", slim, mid-teens wearing a brown hoodie.

9:58 a.m. - 2002 grey Ford Focus with Saskatchewan licence 362 IYT stolen from 1400 block of 108th Street overnight. Keys believed to have been left in ignition.

2:13 p.m. - Vehicle reported stolen from 96th Street overnight, found abandoned south of city in the afternoon. Perpetrators believed to have been visiting the home previous day. Investigation ongoing.

3:42 p.m. - Garage on 96th Street entered overnight, some alcohol reported stolen.

3:57 p.m. - Collision between vehicle and a second parked vehicle on 1500 block of 99th Street. No injuries reported, cause of collision remains under investigation.

4:10 p.m. - Two-vehicle collision on 100th Street, 18-year-old driver of one of the involved vehicles charged with disobeying a red light. No injuries reported.

7:03 p.m. - Two men arrested on 102nd Street after report of intoxicated people urinating in public. 44-year-old man also being charged with failing to comply with probation, a 56-year-old man is being charged under the Alcohol and Gaming Regulations Act.

7:46 p.m. - Shoplifting complaint from business on 100th Street, investigation ongoing.

9:38 p.m. - 52-year-old man arrested and charged with break and enter after report of a break and enter in progress at a residence on 102nd Street.

10:51 p.m. - Report of perpetrator(s) kicking a parked vehicle on 15th Avenue. Some minor damage found to side of car.d

11:13 p.m. - Two 14-year-old youth reported missing from youth group home. Both returned on their own four hours later.
