Building permit numbers saw a significant spike in value in February in North Battleford.

February numbers compiled by Building Inspector Jerry Wintonyk report that six building permits were issued for a value of $5,150,600 compared to 11 for $1,072,400 for the same month in 2012.

That means that for the first two months of 2013, 10 permits have been issued for $5,904,600, compared to 16 for $7,032,400 in the first two months of 2012.

The good February values were led by an industrial alteration permit issued for the Cargill/ University of Saskatchewan addition and renovation to the former Cangro Processors feed mill, according to Wintonyk's report.

There were also three residential alteration permits issued for $27,600, a new industrial permit for $263,000 and one institutional alteration permit for $60,000, all contributing to the final permit totals for the month.
