For the second time in less than a year, the Humboldt & District hosted a successful fashion show with local models and was sold out.
Similar to the previous Gallery of Spring show, this Gallery of Fall show displayed outfits from Brickhouse Clothing, who donated the apparel and recruited the models.

"It was awesome," said Jean Price, the museum and gallery's program coordinator. "I think everyone had a really great time. It seemed to be popular and quite a success."

The money raised from the ticket sales go towards the Museum Foundation, which raises money for capital projects for the museum and gallery.
While the chairperson of the Museum Foundation, Wanda Lefebvre, took responsibility of the organizing, seating, and food, Brickhouse's owner Lana Muggli took care of the rest.

"I usually start two or three weeks before the show and make appointments for the models to come and do their fittings," said Muggli. "The I have to do a lineup for the order of models and drag the outfits all the way to the gallery."

In order to find models, Muggli literally asks people who come to store if they'd like to participate. This time, Muggli was even able to secure a few younger models.

"I have a system. I've got a really good system that I follow and it works really well," said Muggli. "I just like the fact that a lot of new people are getting to see the gallery that haven't seen it before or didn't know we even had a gallery."

In total, the show featured a range of 99 outfits between 7 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.
Furthermore, because it was their second time doing it, the audience seemed to be more comfortable, says Price, even stopping the models to say a word or two.

According to Price, it's a nice opportunity for the fairer sex to enjoy a pleasant evening out.

"If men wanted to come, that would be fine, but it's nice have a majority of women out together doing something nice that maybe their significant others wouldn't be that into," said Price.

Muggli said she's hoping they'll be able to do another Gallery of Spring fashion show next year.
