Court proceedings involving Brandon Stucka have been adjourned again until next month. Nov. 23 was Stucka's seventh appearance in North Battleford provincial court by CCTV from custody in Saskatoon.

Stucka's charges, among others, include criminal negligence causing death, criminal negligence causing bodily harm, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing death, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing bodily harm, failure to stop at the scene of an accident, flight from police, possession of property obtained by crime, and three counts of breach of undertaking. The charges stem mostly from a collision Sept. 22 on Highway 16 that resulted in three deaths.

Stucka initially hired Hasaan Jomha of Edmonton to act as his defence lawyer, but Stucka has since obtained Legal Aid in North Battleford to act as his defence. Legal Aid began working on the Stucka case on Oct. 18.

In court on Nov. 23, Legal Aid asked to adjourn proceedings until Dec. 21.

Judge Lorna Dyck said she'd like to proceed with the case, but allowed the adjournment given the seriousness of the charges, and to give Legal Aid time. Judge Dyck said organizing a schedule for matters relating to Stucka requires balancing between wanting to carry forth with proceedings, but not forcing them too quickly so as to commit errors.

Stucka is remanded by consent of the Crown and defence at Saskatoon. He has been in custody since late September. There has yet to be a show cause hearing.
