Between 6 a.m., Friday, March 6 and 6 a.m. Saturday, March 7, Battlefords RCMP responded to over 50 calls for service, including:

Friday

- Vehicle parked on the 1200 block of 103rd Street overnight reported to have been broken into shortly after 8 a.m. Cards and a cell phone reported stolen.

- Theft of gasoline from a farm west of Battleford some time over night.

- Report of a fraud through the mail. Investigation ongoing. 

- A vehicle reported stolen from the Turtleford area found burnt on the Red Pheasant First Nation at 11 a.m.  Matter believed also related to a break and enter reported in the Table Mountain area shortly after 5 a.m.  An 18-year-old male and a youth were arrested by Maidstone RCMP and are currently facing numerous charges including possession of stolen property, flight from police, assaulting a police officer and mischief. Several suspects attended to a farm in the early morning hours and stole property from a shed before fleeing. Two suspects were arrested by Maidstone RCMP and the Battleford Canine Unit approximately three hours later. Both remain in custody and will be appearing in North Battleford Court on Monday, March 9 at 9:30 a.m. The investigation into this matter is still ongoing.

- Report of a disturbance at 3 p.m. on the 900 block of 102nd Street. A 57-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of domestic violence. She has since been released on several conditions and is facing one count of assault. Victim sustained minor injuries but did not require medical attention.

- Report of an assault at a residence in the Cochin district. The alleged victim was located, suffering from minor injuries to her face. A suspect has been identified and charges of assault are currently pending. Suspect had fled area prior to police arrival and remains at large.

- Report of a vehicle parked on Railway Avenue East having sugar poured into gas tank. Believed to have occurred between 4 and 5 p.m. 

- At 8:07 p.m. received report of shoplifting from a business on Railway Avenue East. A possible suspect has been identified, matter remains under investigation.

- Police responded at 9:42 p.m. to a call at a residence on the 800 block of 110th Street of an intoxicated male armed with a machete threatening the complainant. A 30-year-old man was arrested on scene without incident and is facing charges of assault with a weapon, forcible confinement and breach of probation. The complainant was not injured during the incident. The accused is to be remanded into custody this morning and will be making his first appearance in North Battleford Provincial Court on Monday, March 9.

Saturday

- Report of an assault at a residence in the Cochin district at 12:26 a.m. All parties known to each other. Investigation ongoing.

- A 911 call was received from a residence on the 1500 block of 104th Street at 12:52 a.m. of an assault. The suspect had already left prior to the incident being reported. The victim was alleged to have been struck in the arm with a baton and was transported to hospital and treated for injuries.  A 23-year-old suspect has been identified, and charges of assault with a weapon are currently pending.

- Report of a theft of gasoline from a business on the Highway 16 bypass at 212 a.m. 

-A 30 year old male arrested at 249 a.m. and now facing charges of Impaired Driving and Refusing to provide a Breath Sample after a vehicle stop on highway 4 south of Battleford.

Police also arrested 8 people for alcohol related offences, responded to 7 disturbance calls, 4 collisions, 3 False/nuisance 911 calls, 6 traffic investigations, 2 alarms and 2 persons reported missing who were found in the noted time period.
