Suicide threat most serious situation RCMP dealt with Thursday/Friday

There were around 20 calls for service/occurrences reported by Battlefords RCMP between 6am Thursday and 7:20 am Friday. There were also two false alarms that police responded to and one false/nuisance 911 call. Thursday 8:24 a.m.

Thursday

8:24 a.m. - Call of a discarded condom full of drugs located off Territorial Drive. It turned out to only be an old used condom.

12:55 p.m. - Two vehicle collision on 100th Street. One passenger sustained non-life threatening injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment. Both vehicles sustained significant damage and were towed from scene, with some minor traffic disruption. The driver of one of the vehicles was charged under the Traffic Safety Act for Failure to Yield to oncoming traffic when turning left.

1:16 p.m. - A caller was contacted by phone by a company requesting access to her computer to rid it of viruses. Some personal information was provided. Police are reminding people not to provide personal information to phone solicitors; this is not a legitimate service.

3:51 p.m. - A 45 year old male arrested for public intoxication, sleeping in a public washroom. Again.

4:15 pm - Theft of a phone reported.The complainant lent it to an acquaintance who had refused to return it.

6:41 pm - Minor two-vehicle collision on Railway Avenue East. No injuries and both vehicles were able to leave under own power.

7:40 pm - Members assisted in mediating dispute regarding late rent payment between landlord and tenants.

11:30 pm - A 55 year old male was arrested for public intoxication on 101st street.

Friday

3:03 am - Members responded to a home on 103rd Street about a female armed with a knife with some threats being made to harm herself. Members were able to locate and take subject into custody without any issues. She was not in possession of any weapons when taken into custody. No one was harmed or injured.

3:05 am - A 41 year old male was arrested for public intoxication on 101st street.
