Suspicious package merely misdirected

The cold snap put the freeze to calls for RCMP assistance between 6 a.m. Monday, Feb. 24 and 6 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 25, with Battlefords RCMP reporting about 17 calls for service/occurrences.

The cold snap put the freeze to calls for RCMP assistance between 6 a.m. Monday, Feb. 24 and 6 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 25, with Battlefords RCMP reporting about 17 calls for service/occurrences.

Among those calls were two false alarms and two false/nuisance 911 calls.

Monday

7:59 a.m. - Complaint of a break and enter to a business on Thatcher Avenue. Still under investigation.

1:21 p.m. - Report of a possible impaired driver passed out in a vehicle on the Highway 16 Bypass. Driver found to be sleeping and sober.

4:09 p.m. - Two complaints of an intoxicated male on 108th Street. Located and lodged in cells for sobering.

5:07 p.m. - Report of an intoxicated male refusing to leave licensed premises. Lodged in cells for sobering.

719 p.m. - Report of a suspicious package delivered to a residence. Turned out to have just been delivered to the wrong address.

7:44 p.m. - Complaint of a man punching a woman in the face. Still under investigation and charges pending.

10:17 p.m. - Report of a male youth breaching his curfew. Charges pending.

Tuesday

3:03 a.m. - Report of an intoxicated male refusing to pay his cab fare. Arrested and lodged for sobering.
